Where will Caleb Williams end up?

True freshman Caleb Williams proved to be one of the most electrifying quarterbacks in college football this past season. The 20-year-old managed to wrestle out pre-season Heisman trophy favourite Spencer Rattler from the starter role at the Oklahoma Sooners early in the season.

Although there were questionmarks over the decision in the opening weeks, a comeback victory over Texas Longhorns ended much of the criticism and there was no looking back afterwards.

Williams ended the season with 21 touchdown passes, 6 rushing touchdowns, with only 4 interceptions. He capped his season going 21/27 for 242 yards and 3 touchdowns in the 47-32 Alamo Bowl victory over the Oregon Ducks.

On 3 January, Caleb Williams entered the transfer portal, stating that

USC are the favourites to land Williams. And should he pay a visit to the interested programme then he could certainly make the decision to transfer. Everything he needs is at the Trojans to set him up as a future round 1 NFL draft pick. From Heisman trophies, national championships, he’d have a better shot than where he is currently.

On top of all that, Williams committed to Lincoln Riley. The Sooners now have Riley as their Head Coach at USC, Everything points to a reunion in Los Angeles in the coming weeks. USC currently only have Miller Moss on their roster and would make for an optimal situation for Williams.

It is understood that numerous programs have reached out to the family about Williams’ interest, but they are keeping the list private. Should USC not be the destination, Georgia, UCLA, LSU, Maryland could be the choice.
